Just as I was getting used to the Sydney SuperDome being called Acer Arena they have changed the name again. I’m going back to SuperDome.
And I’m sticking with Olympic Stadium for whatever that is called this month. And Docklands Stadium.
Thankfully the Melbourne and Sydney Cricket Grounds are still the MCG and SCG respectively.
I do understand sponsorship - but naming rights is just confusing.
The whole thing reminds me of a sketch that some friends of mine wrote many years ago in the form of a football commentary where everything was preceded by a sponsor name - the ground, the goalposts, the ball, the umpire, each player, the time out, etc.
